“Although Coleford has a low crime rate, there are a number of areas that we needed to keep an eye on,” explains Annie Lapington, Town Clerk of Coleford Town Council.
“We’re the only town in the Forest to have a night club in the town centre itself, where we also have a relatively high number of residents living. Also, at the time when we were going to lose the District Council CCTV system, there was a serious sexual assault here. All of these factors made it imperative that we had a good quality, usable system that would benefit our residents. The Police use the CCTV system on a regular basis and have used the footage on numerous occasions to make arrests.”
She continues, “The main benefits of the RedHand system for us are the quality of the pictures and its affordability. We’re only a little market town in a rural area and for the level of crime we see, it represents excellent value for money.”
