RedHand's innovative approach to CCTV means that IntruderIP solves one of the major problems facing Alarm Monitoring companies and their customers. Industry statistics indicate that 70-75% of all alarm calls are false and in addition to the financial implications, this inconveniences key holders and can delay the arrival of the emergency services. IntruderIP provides a true, ‘live’ monitoring system by seamlessly integrating two of RedHand’s IP-based software products.
The system uses high definition, mega pixel cameras with advanced motion detection that are installed in the customer’s premises and armed by using standard keypads. The surveillance software, which is running on a local PC, enables the pictures from cameras that are triggered to be sent automatically to the monitoring station over a broadband connection. Unlike the conventional response to an alarm call, there is no delay. The operator does not need to dial-in and search for pictures, as the relevant images instantly appear on his screen. Alarms can be verified immediately before appropriate action is taken.
The system also has inbuilt audio transmission which can play a pre-recorded message over onsite loudspeakers. This can be used to warn intruders that they have been detected as soon as they try to gain access onto the site and their movements are being observed and recorded. The main aim is to deter them before any damage is done.
