| VisionIP is a user-friendly, software product and the Viewer software can be hosted on a standard office PC. The system uses digital cameras connected to the backbone of a conventional computer network, via standard network wall sockets. It can interface with any standard video camera, including covert, infrared, dome etc. Any number of cameras can be installed very easily and they can be added or re-sited as and when required.
VisionIP eliminates network and bandwidth problems because it does not use video. Instead, the cameras take digital still pictures at a rate of two per second, only when they are activated by movement. All activity is captured and every picture is a full colour, industry standard, JPEG image of superb quality. They can also be copied to another PC via the Internet for remote monitoring.
The images are sent from the cameras and are stored on the disk of a networked PC. As the individual image file size is very small, a normal PC disk can hold a large number of daily pictures if needed. Computer network cabling is cheap to install, is unobtrusive and most businesses already have a network in place.
Viewing can be carried out on any PC that is connected to the network. It is very easy to search through pictures as a slide bar facility allows the instant location of any historical incident. The user can also view pictures from a certain date and time. A "Synchronised Play" function allows all camera pictures to be played back in a chronological sequence.
Images can be copied to the clipboard for insertion into any Windows document and can be printed or emailed. Mobile phone Text Messaging can be used to alert the appropriate people as soon as a break-in or incident occurs. VisionIP users can also receive text messages warning them of potential network/camera failures. |
